1. The information we collect and how we use it
When you order or enquire about our online chocolate products we need to know your name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, and, if ordering, your credit or debit card number, start date, expiry date and security code. If you have ordered online chocolate products for a third party we will need to know their postal address (and sometimes their telephone number for delivery purposes).
We gather this information to allow us to process your registration and process any orders you may make. The relevant information is then used by us to organise delivery, provide you with statements of your account and to communicate with you on any matter relating to the conduct of your account and the provision of our service.
We may also use aggregate information and statistics for the purposes of monitoring website usage in order to help us develop the website and our services and may provide such aggregate information to third parties. These statistics will not include information that can be used to identify any individual.
We may contact you by post, e-mail or telephone to ask you for your feedback and comments on our products and services.
We may also wish to provide you with information about special features of our website or any other service or products we think may be of interest to you. If you would rather not receive this information, please contact us.
We won’t make your personal details available to other companies for marketing purposes.
2. Our use of cookies and other information gathering technologies
A cookie is an alphanumeric identifier which we transfer to your hard drive through your web browser when you visit our website. It enables our own system to recognise you when you visit our website again and improve our service to you. Cookies may also be used to compile aggregate information about areas of our website that are visited most frequently. This traffic information can be used to enhance the content of our website and make your use of it easier. If you wish to reject our cookie, you can configure your browser to do so.
3. How we protect your information
Security is a major issue for anyone purchasing on the internet. You need to know that a website is legitimate, and transactions are secure before you buy. To address these issues, the Kennedys Fine Chocolates website uses the Worldpay payment gateway for online credit and debit card processing.
We also keep your information confidential. The internal procedures of Kennedys Fine Chocolates cover the storage, access and disclosure of your information.
4. Updating your details
If any of the information that you have provided to us changes, for example if you change your e-mail address or name, please login to your account where you can make changes on your dashboard. If you wish to cancel your registration, please send an e-mail to info@kennedyschocolates.co.uk or by sending a letter to Kennedys Fine Chocolates Ltd, The Old School, Orton, Penrith, CA10 3RU, England.
5. Safety and Security Tips
If using a public computer or terminal, always log out and close the browser when you complete an online session. Keep your passwords private. Remember, anybody who knows your password may access your account. When creating a password, use at least 8 characters - a combination of letters and numbers is best. Do not use dictionary words, your name, email address, or other personal information that can be easily obtained.
It is also recommended that you frequently change your password. Avoid using the same password for multiple online accounts. Please note: we will never ask you to confirm any account or credit card details via email and if you receive an email claiming to be from info@kennedyschocolates.co.uk asking you to do so then please ignore it and do not respond.
